Make Unique Greeting Cards With Your Laser Printer

February 17, 2012

Having access to, or better yet, owning, your own laser printer is a dream come true for the home crafter. Not only do you save loads of money by making your own greeting cards, every card you make and sign is an original.

If you have recently purchased purchasing a greeting card in the store, read this before doing it again. The cost of the average greeting card made by one of the major suppliers is somewhere in the range of three to four dollars. If you are buying a card for even a few special occasions every month, that money adds up fast. Not to mention, you always have to wonder whether someone else thought that a particular card was perfect and unique for Aunt Tilly's 50th birthday; too bad you both thought the same thing!

If you are even minimally computer literate, you can easily create, customize, color, and print any number of greeting cards. The best thing about doing this is knowing that your card is one of a kind, guaranteed. Plus, it is a lot less expensive.

Creating and printing your own greeting cards is fast becoming one of the fastest growing hobbies for crafters in America. Printing out a simple card with fabulously bright inks on your home laser printer, and then adding your own glitter, sparkles or "bling," ensures the recipient has a unique, beautiful creation made by you. Your card is sure to go on display throughout the year, not just for the day.

  • I have been making greeting cards with my laser printer and have loved the results. You can make your cards really personal and unique, as you suggest. My grandchildren love getting cards from me. They are nothing like the standard cards you purchase in the store. They are one of a kind and only limited by your imagination. - carolois on 3/23/2012

  • This is a great suggestion for people with a quality printer. I had never considered printing my own greeting cards before, but it would surely save a lot of money. - MasterSeal on 3/30/2012

  • I have always enjoyed making hand made cards. Using a laser printer will really help me a lot. I won't have to stress out that I am getting the letters just right. I will have more font choices available than those I could hand print myself when using my computer programs. - countrygirl80 on 4/6/2012
