How to Create Laser Printer Invitations

Learning how to create laser printer invitations brings down the overall cost of a party while providing a fun do-it-yourself project. Many hobby and art supply stores carry invitation kits that include envelopes, paper, RSVP cards and decorations, with some featuring card stock and special invitation paper. Follow these steps for great-looking invitations.
First: Get the design
Find an invitation website or book to get ideas for the wording and design of your invitation. Determine the invitation paper's length and width; many invitation kits come with a sheet that has the paper's dimensions printed on it.
Second: Set the paper
Place the paper into the printer tray. Find the paper guides on your laser printer and move these until the paper fits against the guides.
Third: Create your invitation
Replicate your invitation design in a word processing document. Make sure to use the actual dimensions of your invitation paper for the page size. Save your changes frequently.
Fourth: Print your work
Click on the "Print" menu and select the "Properties" tab. In this menu, type in the actual dimensions of your paper. Select to print.
Fifth: See your creation
Check your printed document to make sure the words are aligned correctly. If needed, fix the margins in the "Page setup" menu. Print another example invitation to verify the correct content.
Sixth: Add the final touches
Using similar techniques, print envelopes with the necessary addresses of your invitees. Let the ink dry on the printed invitations and on the envelopes, then fold the invitations properly and put them in the envelopes.
